Eligibility

- Entrants must be 18 years or older.

- All and any styles of performances welcome.

- Entrants must use their legal names to apply.

- Stage names will be permitted for social media & live finals for privacy.

- Entrants must be available on the live final date 26 April 2025.

- All competitors across all gender identities, and of any race, age, religion, sexual identity and disabilities are welcome @ GBPC.

- Entrants from inside and outside of the UK welcome.

- Strippers & SWers welcome and may enter whichever category fits their personal ability. (Please read category specific rules for more info.)

Video Auditions Info

- Entry fee is £30 per singles & £50 per double applications.

- Beginner, both amateur & experienced categories of Intermediate, Advanced, Doubles & Pro video entry length should be a maximum of 3:30minutes. 

- All Star video entry length 4:30 max.

- Application form & fee is completed via Video Audition page, video entry is submitted via email videoauditions@greatbritishpolechamps.com.

- Videos must be submitted via video link (YouTube, Vimeo) with the link attached and emailed to. Please title your video with your stage name and category, and if your piece has a title please feel free to add that too. Please ensure video is not set to private.

- Application videos must be filmed within 2 years of application date. (31 Oct 2022 - 31 Oct 2024)

- Audition videos should be filmed on 2 poles, 1 static and 1 spin.

- Audition videos should be filmed on a tripod or person held camera, videos can be creatively filmed but must not be edited and must be one continuous shot with no limbs cropped from any shot.

- Live performance video entries welcomed and encouraged. Professionally edited videos from live final competitions are an exception and are welcome to be submitted.

- It is recommended to dub music over your audition video but this is not essential.

- Applications & videos do not need to be sent at the same time, but must be done within the application dates 1 Sep 2024 - 31 Oct 2024.

- No refunds for withdrawn entries.

- Rules are the same for video auditions & live finals except video length/song length. (please see below : Category Rules)

Category Specific Rules

This section explains category specific rules in depth.

Rules are relevant for video entries & finals.

BEGINNER

Not open to instructors.
Open to students at beginner level with 2 year or less experience.
Graded moves are: spins on both static & spin pole, pole climbs, pole sits, cross knee release, genie, stargazer, figurehead/hood ornament, headstands & forearm stands. Inverts to basic crucifix only may be permitted but is not essential. 
Graded moves are guidelines for performers to create routines.
Final Performance track length 3.30min max.

INTERMEDIATE

Not open to instructors. 
Graded moves are: spins on both static and spin pole, pole climbs, basic inverts from the floor, leg hangs, hip holds, cupid, handstands, shoulder dismounts and/or shoulder mount, upright poses, ballerina & superman, butterfly and/or Ayesha. Ball drop and holly drop may be performed.
Ayesha must not to be performed from a handspring. If you wish to perform aerial inverts, flips, tumbles, handsprings or contortion shapes like Allegra, contortion scorpio etc please enter Advanced.
Graded moves are guidelines for performers to create routines.
Final Performance track length 4.00min max.

ADVANCED

Not open to instructors.
0 move restrictions.

PROFESSIONAL

Open to instructors, paid performers or professional pole dancers.

Strippers & SWers with competition experience should enter any Experienced category, strippers/SWers with no competition experience may either enter either Beginner or the Amateur category of Intermediate, Advanced or Professional depending on move restrictions &/or guidelines correlating to their current ability. 
You should only enter category if you have not previously placed 1st or 2nd in a professional category in the past 2 years. (GBPC PRO AM, YFA & YFFLOOR and APD heats excluded.) If you have placed 1st or 2nd in a professional category between 31 Oct 2022 - 31 Oct 2024 please enter ALL STARS.
Final Performance track length 4.30min max.

DOUBLES

Open to professional and amateur pole dancers of mixed levels.
0 move restrictions.
Neither spin or static is compulsory. Performers can choose 1 static 1 spin, or both spin or both static.
Performances must include both doubles tricks, spins and syncronisation.
Final Performance track length 4.00min max.

ALL STARS

0 move restrictions.
You can enter this category if you have previously placed 1st or 2nd in a Professional category between 31 Oct 2022- 31 Oct 2024.
(YFA, YFFLOOR, GBPC PRO AM & APD HEATS EXCLUDED.)

GBPC RULES & Performance Guidelines

This section explains performance guidelines and GBPC general rules, and information on disqualification. 

1

WARDROBE/COSTUME

- No nudity is permitted.
- Appropriate attire is defined as "minimum" a bra (may be mesh with pasties.)

Removal of items of clothing/costume is allowed.
- Unacceptable costuming includes: rings, bracelets or any jewellery/accessories that may damage the poles.
- Heels may be worn in all categories.
- Gloves and ankle grippers not permitted.

PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

- Back up dancers allowed on stage, please pre advise via email.
- Entrants must adhere to the guidelines and restrictions set in the individual categories, no exceptions will be made prior to or on the day of the competition.
- The competitor must not perform tricks outside of their capability.
- Props allowed but must be set up and removed within 2 minutes.

GBPC GENERAL RULES

- Competitors must warm up appropriately prior to competing and be fit to perform.
- Offensive and discriminatory music should be avoided. The N word should be censored out with the exception of music used by black competitors.
- Competitors should not be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs on the day of the competition.
- No moisturisers, bronzers, fake tanners or lotions may be worn; these can cause excess slippage and/or injury to you or others.

- Entrants must enter the category appropriate to their current level.
- Previous winners should enter the category above. Int Am winner should enter Int Exp, Adv Exp winner should enter Pro Am. 
- Competitors may join the audience at any time during the competition.
- Dressing area for performers, judges & chaperones only. Chaperones should have tickets and cannot remain backstage all day but can visit throughout the day.
- Make up artists/hairstylists permitted upon request.

- Competitors and guests must behave in a respectful manner.
Discriminatory and offensive behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any person who acts disrespectfully or discriminatory towards other audience members, competitors, judges or staff. The organisers decision is final.
- Competitors across all gender identities, sexuality, disability, age, religion, race may contact us in advance about making any adjustments on the day (or video rounds) regarding accommodations they may need for disability/health conditions.

DISQUALIFICATION

- Failure to conduct in a professional manner. Offensive or disrespectful behaviour.
- Discussing judging matters with judges.
- Breaking 2 or more category specific rules. (5 marks lost per rule break.)
